Man Utd Transfers: 5 Signings To Ensure Continued Success Under David Moyes

2. Karim Benzema

If Manchester United fail to talk striker Wayne Rooney into staying at Old Trafford for a second time, then they're going to need at least one new world class striker and if such an eventuality does come to fruition and the England international departs for pastures new, Real Madrid's Karim Benzema could swap Madrid for Manchester. Reports last Saturday suggested Moyes had lined up a Rooney replacement already with a potential move for long-term target Benzema on the cards. The Reds tried to sign the Frenchman back in 2009 but Real outbid them by paying Lyon £35 million. But United could get the star for £30 million today with just two years remaining on his contract at the Bernabeu.
