Man Utd Transfers: 5 Things Juan Mata Will Bring To Red Devils

3. Assists & Goals

Juan Mata was one of the Premier League's most creative players last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 17 assists for his teammates. That's four more assists than Mesut Ozil managed in La Liga during the same period while Mata also scored three more goals than Arsenal's recent acquisition. As such the Spain star was named Chelsea Player of the Year for a second consecutive season and that, coupled with his goals tally and assist ratio, means the Blue's decision to sell is somewhat puzzling. Yet their loss is United's gain, because in a regular playing role, Mata has all the tools to bring the same number of goals and assists to David Moyes's side. He could well do for the Red Devils what Ozil has done for Arsenal - that is, help them become serious Premier League contenders again.
