Man Utd Transfers: 5 Things Juan Mata Will Bring To Red Devils

4. A Solution To The Kagawa Problem

Long before Juan Mata's touted arrival in Manchester, Shinji Kagawa was seen as the vibrant creative and attacking force of United's midfield. Kagawa enjoyed a sparking last season with Borussia Dortmund in 2011-12, scoring 13 Bundesliga goals, yet he has managed less than half that tally during his season-and-a-half at United. Things just haven't worked out for the Japan international in England, and he hasn't scored or provided a single assist all season thus far. Mata's favoured position is just behind the main striker or in other words in the 'No.10 role' - which is where Kagawa works best, but hasn't been coming up with the goods. The problem that is Kagawa's wavering form of late could be solved by Mata's arrival, with United being gifted the type of world-class playmaker that Kagawa was hyped as, but hasn't lived up to.
