5. Edison Cavani

Napoli's Uruguayan striker Edison Cavani is considered one of the best forwards in Europe right now and has
been linked with United's cross-city rivals Manchester City in recent times. The South American goal machine has netted 36 times in 41 appearances in all competitions this season and 27 times in Serie A, but his phenomenal talents and goal scoring record is matched by his sky-high market value. He reportedly has a £53 million buy-out clause in his contract and United would clearly have to dip into the funds they receive from Rooney to afford that sort of fee. Bayern Munich have been linked with Rooney and are reportedly prepared to pay
£30 million for the services of the Englishman, so United would at least be some of the way there in being able to afford Cavani.
