3. Ashley Young
Ashley Young is another Manchester United winger who has suffered an indifferent season. In and out of the team, the England international only made 20 appearances in the league, one more than he managed in 2012/13. It was in his first season at Old Trafford that Young really shone. The former Aston Villa man weighed in with 8 goals in 33 appearances, justifying the reported £17million United paid for his services. Indeed, his form saw him play in all four of Englands games at Euro 2012. Two years later and Young is out of the England squad, and he may be heading out of Old Trafford. The 28-year-old was almost sold in January, however he remained for the end of the season. Despite that, Young will have to fight hard to convince Van Gaal that he is worthy of a place in Uniteds squad.
