Man Utd Transfers: 9 Sub-Par Players Who Need To Be Sold
7. Marouane Fellaini
Under David Moyes at Everton he was the cream of the crop, yet after following his manager to United he hasn't been able to replicate the displays he showed during his time at Goodison Park. Following a pricey transfer to United, he has done little more than frustrate and confuse those fans who must now be wondering, what exactly did Manchester United get for their money? Fellaini not really a Manchester United sort of player and doesn't fit in a team that already has Michael Carrick. He doesn't consistently track players down, he's very rash, he claims his best position is in a holding midfielder role but he looks suspect when he's given the responsibility. He doesn't protect the back line enough or win enough tackles to be considered highly in that position. He countered this problem at Everton by scoring a lot of goals, perhaps that's what Moyes wanted from him for United. Unfortunately, he hasn't done this as of yet. He's a talented player but he's not a game changer. He's just another player that doesn't fit in properly at Manchester United and if he doesn't improve quickly then his price tag will ensure he gets a lot more criticism. For that money you can get a lot more.
