Man Utd Transfers: 9 Sub-Par Players Who Need To Be Sold

8. Danny Welbeck

Yet another player that plays regularly for Manchester United and also for England but he, like Cleverly, raises many questions. This season, to be fair, he has improved. He's on a good run of form and has answered many critics that pointed to his poor statistics and contributions last season. However, those stats are still there for all to see. There's a huge question mark over his long term useful for United. Could he return to those performances if he goes through a number of games without scoring? Let's face facts here. Welbeck is never going to be the big name United striker. He has Wayne Rooney ahead of him there, as well as Robin Van Persie. Both of those players are prolific, Welbeck not so much and Moyes is never going to give him the role of being THE man at Old Trafford. At the end of the day, do United fans (or Moyes) really trust Welbeck to find the net when he's put through on goal? He has a tremendous technique and physicality but he's not a world beater or a 20 goal a season man.
