Man Utd Transfers: Predicting First 5 David Moyes Signings

2. Marouane Fellaini

The retirement of Paul Scholes isn't the only think hindering David Moyes' midfield plans for next season and there are several other issues to be addressed also, namely, will Anderson be told he no longer has a future in Manchester and move on, and will Darren Fletcher ever play again after his serious bowel illness? Ryan Giggs is also, in all likelihood, in his final year at Old Trafford and even he cannot stave off retirement forever in spite of his evergreen qualities. That being said, it would be sensible of Moyes to bring in at least one new midfielder in the summer and if he cannot get either of the aforementioned two he may well look to raid old club Everton of star Marouane Fellaini. The powerful Belgian has been tipped to join the Scotsman at Old Trafford this summer and has a £22 million buy-out clause in the contract he signed back in 2011, suggesting he isn't tied down to the club as many previously thought. Much like Fabregas, £22 million is a comparative snip and the Red Devils would certainly benefit from having someone endowed with the physical dominance Fellaini brings to the midfield. Able to play both defensively and offensively, his versatility would also provide United with more options next season.
