As Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperately looks to add some creativity to his Manchester United side before the transfer window slams shut at 5pm tomorrow, the latest name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford is Inaki Williams.

According to Spain’s El Chiringuito TV, United are prepared to pay the Athletic Bilbao forward’s £81 million release clause.

A rapid Spanish international, Williams is able to play anywhere across a front three and has also been utilised as an attacking central midfielder by Bilbao in his time in the Basque Country.

The 25-year-old player bagged a solid 14 goals in 41 games last season for Bilbao, and his age, directness and mobility certainly fit in with the sort of player that Solskjaer has been looking to bring to the Theatre of Dreams.

Over the past few days, Manchester United have shown interest in Juventus’ Paulo Dybala and Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen – although both of those deals have seemingly fallen apart due to the Red Devils not being convinced that either player was passionate about a possible to move to Manchester.

On the other side of this, United could be about to finally sell Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan – a deal reportedly now agreed on between the two clubs – although the Italian transfer window doesn’t close until September 2nd, meaning that there is still plenty of times to get that Lukaku deal done.
