1. Sir Alex Ferguson vs Jose Mourinho

As important as any battle on the pitch could be the one on the touchline. Everyone is very aware that two of possibly the best managers ever are going head to head and whoever gets the upper hand in the tactical side of things could decide the match. This match is going to be close; no-one denies that so which manager gets it right could be vital. Being the home side Sir Alex will want his Manchester United players to go out there with a positive attitude and to dominate the game. Madrid wont make this easy but if Ferguson sets his team up properly and they keep possession they could scrape past the Spanish giants. Madrid will have a different idea though; Mourinho has been in situations like this countless times before and will know what to do. Madrid have to score and will have to go for it but if they push on too much Manchester United can always hit teams on the counter. Madrid need to be responsible defensively but still have enough about themselves to grab them vital goals. With this game looking like it will be close substitutions could be massive. With both teams having a wealth of talent and experience on the bench, using these at the right time could turn the match. The likes of Giggs, Valencia and Hernandez will probably be on the bench for United and if Manchester United need a goal, bringing these players on at the right time could be huge. The pace of Valencia and Hernandez late on could be too much for tired legs and Giggs experience could be huge in calming nerves and steadying the match. Madrid could have the likes of Higauin, Modric and Callejon on the bench and there are few better than Higuain when in need of a goal while Modric and Callejon could provide much needed creativity. As important as on field battles are, which manage gets things right is often more important and this will probably not be more true than it will be at Old Trafford.
