Man Utd vs Man City - Blues Stood No Chance This Season, Says Ferguson

stood no chance this season. The Red Devils have marched into a commanding lead at the top of the table and have blown away all opposition by becoming the first team in history to win 25 of their first 30 league games, and will move 18 points clear of their City rivals with victory at Old Trafford tonight. And Ferguson believes even City's title-winning team of last season wouldn't have stood a chance against his side during the current campaign, citing the regression Mancini's troops have suffered this season. The Sky Blues are 8 points worse off now than they were at this stage of last season and Ferguson said:

€œWe€™ve improved, that€™s been the difficulty for City. €œEven if their points tally was as good as it was this time last season, it wouldn€™t have matched ours anyway. €œSo you have to give us credit for that. 25 wins out of 30 shows the conviction of the players€™ performance. €œThe way we lost the title last season resonated with a lot of people in the club. The only thing you can do after that kind of thing is do better. €œThat€™s what the players did. They€™ve been focused, their team spirit has been terrific and there was a definite sense of purpose in terms of getting the title back. €œThe important thing is the ability to recover and they€™ve shown that. The players have achieved a lot this season. €œTheir approach to winning the next match has been very positive.€
Ferguson suffered the heartache of seeing his City rivals clinch the Premier League crown in the most dramatic of fashions on the final day of last season's Premier League, a campaign which also saw City run out 6-1 winners at Old Trafford. And Ferguson has admitted he can't bring himself to watch replays as he prepares to welcome City back to the scene of that particular disaster tonight.
€œNo I€™m not into self-flagellation. It happened, we threw it away, committed suicide in the game. But it€™ll be different this time.€
