Team News

Sir Alex Ferguson will be without Nani for Reading€™s visit to Old Trafford, who joins Phil Jones and Paul Scholes on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury. Both Nemanja Vidic and Robin van Persie are expected to return to the first eleven for United, after starting last weekend€™s FA Cup draw against Chelsea on the bench. Reading duo Jimmy Kebe and Adam Federici are unavailable for caretaker manager Eamonn Dolan, while Jason Roberts also misses out with a hip injury, and fellow striker Pavel Pogrebnyak serves the last of his three-game ban.

Past meetings

United boast an unbeaten record against Reading in their last five previous league games, having won three and drawn two against the Royals. The reverse fixture at the Madejski stadium last December was nothing short of a thriller, with United just edging the match at 4-3.
