1. Robin Van Persie
The Dutch Maestro has been in superb form for Man Utd this season, and he brings to the table what United lacked last season: someone to take the pressure of Rooney, someone that would lead the line and allow 'Wazza' to drift around the pitch. As well as his goals haul, Van Persie has also played his part in United becoming more of a threat from set plays, with his corners from the right of particular note along with his ability from free-kick situations. When a Reds fan sees his name on the team sheet it is usually followed with a sigh of relief because with him on the pitch it's almost as if it is inevitable that he will set-up, or score, a goal. His influence on the current Old Trafford outfit has been compared to that exerted on the 90s Man Utd team by the formidable Frenchman, Eric Cantona. The former-Arsenal ace has 23 goals and 8 assists to his name in his debut season, not to mention the fact that his last minute free-kick against Man City has etched his name into the hearts of United fans around the world.
