Man Utd's 10 Most Hated Players

9. Nani

Signed from Sporting Lisbon in 2007, big things were expected of the Portuguese winger, but he has never delivered on his potential. Seven seasons Nani has had at Old Trafford now, and only rarely has he shown flashes of his true ability. A constant source of frustration for the Stretford End faithful, Nani will shoot from improbable distances and tight angles and nearly always find the first defender from a corner. And when he was bizarrely handed a new five-year contract to stay at the club last September, fans took to Twitter to mock the decision. Copa90 opined: €œHas Nani really been given a new 5 year contract at @ManUtd or is this a random joke?€ while TheScore.ie said cheekily: €œGood news: Manchester United have finally got a player to sign a contract. Shoulder shrug: It's Nani.€ One of the last names you'd want to see on United's teamsheet, it's a mystery that Nani is still a Manchester United player, and it would be astonishing if he served the full five years of his new deal.
