2. Andre-Pierre Gignac
Andre-Pierre Gignac burst onto the scene in the 2008-2009 season, when his 24 goals for Toulouse saw him crowned top scorer of Ligue 1. One year later Gignac moved to Marseille, for a fee believed to be around £15million. Since his big money move Gignac has struggled to rekindle the form he showed at Toulouse. In 3 years with the club he has only scored 22 league goals 2 less than he scored in one season for Toulouse. However, Gignac appears to finally be finding his feet at Marseille. Last season he weighed in with 13 league goals, the second best total of his career. Undoubtedly Gignac has struggled with the pressures of a big move, something which has cost him his place in the French squad. Nevertheless, the striker's form last season will give him hope that he can return to his best. He will provide Arsenal's centre backs with a challenging aerial battle, an area Arsenal have previously struggled in. Furthermore while Gignac may not weigh in with many goals, his link play is pivotal to the way Marseille operate. The Frenchman's strength and size allows him to hold the ball up and bring in the side's danger men. It may well be that the key to Arsenal stopping Ayew, Thauvin and Valbuena, is by cutting off the supply to Gignac.
