McClaren: "We Want To Get This Team Winning As Quickly As Possible"

The new NUFC boss feels the international break has came at a bad time.

Steve McClaren is yet to win a Premier League game this season and the Magpies' boss has admitted that the international break has slowed down his learning process, according to the Shields Gazette.

Newcastle's next fixture sees them travel to London for a Monday night clash against West Ham United on September 14.

McClaren will be desperate to grab his win of the season at Upton Park and turn some positive performance into three points.

Speaking to the Shields Gazette, McClaren stated the importance watching league games in order to learn about his new side.

He said:

€œWe want to keep playing, because that€™s when I learn. The games are the test.

€œWe want to get this team winning as quickly as possible.€

€œAt the present moment, we€™ve got good experience in people like Colo (Fabricio Coloccini) and Steven Taylor.

€œYou always need experience, and then the youth can give you exuberance. It€™s just about getting the balance right.€

The Hammers have also done some good business during this transfer window and brought in Michail Antonio, Nikica Jelavic, Alex Song and Victor Moses on deadline day.
