Mitrovic - I Need To Stay Calm And Then I Will Score Lots Of Goals For Newcastle

The 20-year-old Serbian is adamant he will take the Premier League by storm.

Aleksandar Mitrovic believes he needs to "stay calm" on the pitch in the Barclays Premier League - and then the goals will really start to flow for him in a Newcastle United shirt. The 20-year-old Serbian was booked less than 15 seconds after coming on to the field off the bench on his debut, and then little more than a minute into his second appearance as a substitute. But, following an impressive display in the 0-0 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday - when he started for Newcastle for the first time - Mitrovic has revealed he has spoken to the coaches and has tried to calm his approach to matches.
Speaking to The Northern Echo, Mitrovic said:
"I spoke to the coaches and they told me you need to work but you need to think about every situation. "They are right - I need to work hard for the team but I also need to stay calm. I learned a real lot from my first two games. €œIt was my first game for Newcastle from the beginning at Old Trafford and I felt good. It was a long time since I€™d played a game from the beginning but I really felt good. "It was a good 80 minutes for me. By the end, I felt a little tired, but that€™s okay."
Newcastle face Northampton Town at St James' Park in the Capital One Cup Second Round on Tuesday night (7.45pm kick-off) and Mitrovic is keen to be involved. The Serbian is adamant that, once he scores his first goal, more are certain to follow. He added:
"When I spoke to the team before the game I was really excited, because it was my first game from the beginning and it was against Manchester United - it was a good feeling. "I gave everything on Saturday and I expect I will soon start to score goals. "I didn€™t have a lot of service but the balls I got were very good and I almost scored a goal. In the next games I hope I will have more service of the same quality."
