New Spurs Manager: 5 Things He Should Prioritise

5. Give The Players Some Motivation

Lacklustre, lethargic, unmotivated and disinterested - just four of the words that could be used to describe the performances of some of Tottenham Hotspur's players in certain games this season. Moussa Dembele, Paulinho, Jan Vertonghen and Roberto Soldado, amongst others, have all looked disillusioned with on-the-pitch life at times and this has to change. Andre Villas-Boas, as nice a guy as he seemed to be, never came across as lively enough to be inspiring and motivational - he didn't seem to have the capacity to get angry either, which is undoubtedly sometimes required when players need a kick up the backside during and/or after a poor performance. A new manager who oozes authority and possesses great man-management skills is therefore essential, as the Spurs players could really use some motivational words right now, given the aura that some of them are emitting when they take to the pitch.
