Tottenham Hotspur are a club renowned for playing fast, free-flowing and attacking football. Traditionally, they pass the ball around beautifully, they run at players, they counter-attack quickly, score lots of goals and are generally very easy on the eye. But that hasn't been the case this season. Their build-up play has been painfully slow, they aren't counter-attacking with the same ferocity as in previous seasons, their passing hasn't been as productive or free-flowing, Andros Townsend has been the only player consistently running at the opposition (to very little avail) and their goalscoring - at least domestically - has been appallingly low (15 goals in 16 Premier League games is poor by any team's standards, let alone for a team with Champions League aspirations). Last season was a different story entirely. Spurs were fast-moving, good to watch and prolific goalscorers. Of course, last season, Spurs still had Gareth Bale, but with the likes of Erik Lamela, Andros Townsend, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Nacer Chadli, Christian Eriksen, Aaron Lennon, Jermain Defoe and Roberto Soldado in their ranks, they should still be a formidable attacking outfit. The new manager needs to get Spurs playing how their supporters are used to seeing them playing and how the expensive, supposedly talented players in the current squad should by rights be playing - that way, they might actually be able to pick themselves up and challenge at the top of the Premier League sooner rather than later. So there you have it - five things the new Spurs manager should prioritise. Do you agree? What other aspects of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club should be addressed immediately by the new boss?
