Newcastle 2-1 West Brom: Player Ratings

Newcastle

Tim Krul: Vital touch to turn Brunt's early free kick behind, but shaky at resulting set piece. All the work he had to do though as Baggies managed a single shot on target that an exposed Krul could do nothing about. 6/10.

Mathieu Debuchy: Good outlet up from right back on his return from suspension, but nowhere to be seen tracking Brunt when the Baggies captain levelled. Still needs to learn that he has defensive responsibilities. 6/10. Mike Williamson: Threw himself at every header and has rightly emerged as first choice partner to Newcastle captain Coloccini. 6.5/10. Fabricio Coloccini: Nice to see the skipper back playing again. Has a big role for both club and country in this World Cup year. If he can stay fit then Coloccini will be a lynchpin in the Argentina defence in Brazil. 6.5/10. Davide Santon: Let Morgan Amalfitano go a couple of times and that hurt the Magpies once today. If he could just develop a stronger left foot it would make his play less predictable. 5.5/10. Moussa Sissoko: Strong and industrious as he continues in the wide right berth. Great strike to win the match for the Toon. Subbed right before full time. 7.5/10.
