14. 5-0 - Heaviest Defeat Of The Season (Against Manchester City - February 21st, 2015)

Low points were unfortunately present in far-greater regularity under John Carver - and the heaviest defeat of Newcastle's season was at the Etihad Stadium on February 21st. Carver promised he wasn't going to "park the bus" that evening - and he certainly didn't do that, as the Magpies were already 1-0 down inside two minutes once Vurnon Anita gave away a penalty after only 30 seconds. Sergio Aguero converted the spot-kick, before Samir Nasri, Edin Dzeko and a David Silva brace completed the rout - although in truth it could, and probably should, have been an even heavier defeat.
