The key to Newcastle's successful football this season has been absorbing pressure and scoring mostly against the run of play, and allowing the other team more possession inherently means that Newcastle need to be very hot when it comes to creating and converting chances. Remy Cabella's 19 chances made is a good stat, but the fact that he has made just one assist tells a poor story: nobody is turning his chances into goals. The same goes for Jack Colback's 16 chances ceased, and one assist. Somebody needs to work on that conversion rate. And equally, Newcastle need to create more chances throughout the team, especially from the wide men other than Cabella. Additionally, aside from Cisse and Ayoze (at 71% and 70%) no player has anything like a useful striking accuracy: when the wide men are expected to break and chip in with goals the fact that the highest we can expect is 50% from Sammy Ameobi is worrying.
