Newcastle: Alan Pardew's 8 Biggest Head Aches Right Now

7. Dummett, Taylor Or Williamson?

Unfortunately, news that Fabricio Coloccini might be out for a while might make this question a little easier to answer in the long run, but when fit the Argentinian is clearly the club's first choice, and rightly so. But who do you play with him? Steven Taylor has done well since he came back in, and Pardew seems to consider Mike Williamson to be the best option to partner Coloccini in the long-term. But Paul Dummett has been brilliant in the position twice now, and he deserves a chance to make his claim to it full-time. The Answer Dummett should be the answer, based on form, but his versatility means Pardew doesn't always have to make the choice of dropping someone (something he has no issue doing to Massadio Haidara apparently). Without Coloccini in, it's likely to be Williamson and Dummet or Taylor, as there's no way Pardew will go for the Geordies together, no matter how much he should.
