Newcastle Fans Reveal How Many Signings They Believe The Toon Must STILL Make

Three are already through the door for NUFC - but how many more are needed?

Newcastle United fans have declared that they still believe the Magpies need to sign at least three further players this summer if they are to improve on last season's debacle. A WhatCulture.com/NUFC poll asked supporters how many additions Steve McClaren still needed to make to his squad following their first three summer signings - and 91% of the Toon faithful responded that the Magpies still needed to recruit at least three more players. Despite the arrivals of Georginio Wijnaldum, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Chancel Mbemba, Newcastle fans remain convinced the club still have a lot of strengthening to do this summer.
With 35% of the 1,684 respondents opting for three further signings, 23% for four, 21% for "more than five", and 12% for five, that means that nine out of every 10 Toon supporters asked think Newcastle are less than halfway towards the adequate level of summer activity. With just 7% opting for two signings and a mere 1% believing just one further recruit is needed, the message from Newcastle fans is clear: additional spending is a must. Reports linking the Magpies with a move for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin will surely be welcomed, but Newcastle fans would desperately love to see another centre-back arrive in the coming weeks. So will the Magpies respond and reinvigorate the Toon faithful with further signings to go with the already-exciting recruitment of Wijnaldum, Mitrovic and Mbemba? It seems only time will tell...
