Newcastle Loan Report: Adam Armstrong Fires Coventry To League One Summit

4. Adam Armstrong (Coventry City)

Three games, five goals. Could it get any better for Adam Armstrong right now? The 18-year-old Geordie followed up his brace of braces in Coventry City's opening two matches of the season with a strike against Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night, as the Sky Blues moved to the summit of League One with a 3-2 victory. John Fleck had opened the scoring for Coventry at the Ricoh Arena before former Magpie Brad Inman equalised on 31 minutes. Armstrong then had his moment, cutting inside on his left foot and taking two defenders out of the game in the process, before unleashing an unstoppable shot across Crewe stopper Ben Garratt and into the net. Marcus Haber equalised almost instantaneously, but Jim O'Brien struck late on to send Coventry top - and that position is largely due to Armstrong's five goals in three matches.
