Newcastle Premier League Managers Ranked By Win Percentage

3. Glenn Roeder - 45.83%

Newcastle United Manager (Including As Caretaker And Interim): February 2nd 2006-May 6th 2007 Games In Charge: 72 Won: 33 Drew: 15 Lost: 24 Win Percentage: 45.83% Reason For Leaving: Resigned Unfortunately for Glenn Roeder he fell victim to the curse of the caretaker manager. Extremely successful during his time in temporary charge of the Magpies, but once his appointment became permanent then life became a lot more difficult for the former Newcastle captain. Loved already on Tyneside for his battling traits as a centre-back for the Magpies, Newcastle fans really wanted Roeder to succeed as a manager when he took charge in February 2006 - and he did, for a period. Of his 72 matches in charge, Roeder claimed victory in 33 of them and lost just 24, giving him a win ratio of 45.83%. Again this was bolstered by European successes, but Roeder's tenure overall was a successful one, even if it ended in disappointment and his resignation in May 2007.
