Newcastle Target Remy Cabella Wants Premier League Move

Remy Cabella's frank admission that he is open to a move to England should give Newcastle added encouragement in their pursuit of the Montpellier playmaker.
It's quite clear that the 24-year-old is our primary transfer target this summer as Alan Pardew seeks a creator-in-chief to replace Yohan Cabaye with Lyon attacker Clement Grenier also under consideration and we wrote yesterday that the France international is reportedly keen to join the Magpies.
But it seems the Club would prefer to sign Cabella with the player fanning that particular flame by confirming that we made an approach in January and the Premier League is a preferred destination should he leave Montpellier.
Obviously the Premier Leagues a fantastic league," he admitted to FourFourTwo. For me, England and Germany are the top two leagues in the world.
Newcastle were interested last January and there was a bit of contact, but its always difficult to move midway through a season.
Well see what happens. There are lots of good clubs in England. If the chance comes along one day to play there why not?
Whether Cabella is hinting that he fancies a move to St James' Park is unclear. We have an inkling that he would jump at the chance to join the Club if offers from elsewhere aren't forthcoming, although his mention of Germany strikes us as being a calculated nod to rumoured interest from Borussia Dortmund.
