Newcastle Transfer News: Inter Move Ahead Of Magpies In Stiker Race
One of the big summer transfer saga seems set to be the pursuit of St Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Inter Milan have now moved ahead of their competitors according to TalkSport. Newcastle have already been heavily linked with a move for the Gabon international, with head scout Graham Carr and owner Mike Ashley watching him a few weeks ago according to The Times, but Inter have now made a bid for the player. Talksport have pointed towards Italian reports that Inter have made a bid in the region of £8.5m (10m Euros) for the striker but that it has been turned down. The article does goes on to say that Inter and St Etienne are still in talks and confident of thrashing out a deal. The huge interest in the striker is understandable considering his seventeen goals in thirty matches this season and with Newcastle short of striking options at the minute, it is not surprising to see their name linked to the player. Talksport also claim that Arsenal are also keen on Aubameyang, as they look for more attacking options. However, if either club wants to sign him, they will need to open negotiations quickly before Inter Milan get a deal wrapped up. Who would Newcastle fans want if they miss out on Aubameayng? How important is signing a striker in the summer?
