Jordan Rhodes has been tearing up the Championship over the last two seasons and recently popped up on Newcastle's radar. The Scottish striker has scored 52 goals in 96 appearances for Blackburn Rovers since joining from Huddersfield Town in 2012 and netted a scorching 25 league goals in 46 appearances in 2013-14. His scintillating form has not gone unchecked in the Premier League, with The Mag reporting back in May that Newcastle are keeping tabs on his progress, while they scouted the player back in 2012. Since then, Rhodes has gone on to excel, with the 24-year-old going on to break a number of records, including becoming Scotland U-21's all-time leading goal scorer and scoring the fastest ever headed hat-trick for Huddersfield. Prolific, lethal, strong in the air with an imposing physical presence, Rhodes would be a terrific signing for Newcastle, who could well benefit from his proven predatory instinct for goal. Loic Remy was the Magpies' top scorer last season with 14 strikes and now that he's back at parent club QPR, Alan Pardew needs someone to fill the void. That man could be Rhodes.
