Newcastle Transfers: 5 Goalkeepers To Replace Tim Krul Next Season

4. Jeroen Zoet

Age: 23 Current Club: PSV Eindhoven Value: £4.4m Links to Zoet can be traced back almost two years and the Dutch goalkeeper has been on our radar for a while now. The 23-year-old has been repeatedly endorsed as Krul's long-term successor should his international compatriot ever leave St James' Park and now could be the time for Newcastle to strike. Zoet appeared 29 times for PSV in the Eredivisie last season keeping a respectable nine shut-outs on the way to finishing fourth and qualifying for the Europa League. However, it wasn't good enough for him to earn a place in Louis van Gaal's World Cup squad as Krul, of all people, nabbed the final seat on the plane to Brazil. But the 6ft 3in has a bright future and is said to be highly-regarded by Newcastle having received rave reviews from chief scout Graham Carr and goalkeeping coach Andy Woodman after accumulating several seasons of first team experience under his belt whilst on loan at RKC Waalwijk and as number one at PSV. So there is reason to suggest Zoet could pick up where Krul left off on Tyneside.
