That proposal has been rejected by Newcastle though as the Toon lurch toward yet another disaster that could see their joint-highest goalscorer last season forced out. Sources described the relationship between the two parties yesterday as "strained" and unless a compromise can be brokered, it appears as though Cisse faces an uncertain future at the club.
