5. Sylvain Marveaux

No one said that when a player leaves you have to go out and spend money in the transfer market to replace him. Whilst Cabaye could draw in £20 million, the club can easily find his replacement in their squad. 27-year-old Sylvain Marveaux has been part of the Newcastle squad since joining from Rennes in 2011. In his first season at the club, Marveaux found it difficult to settle into the club but during last year€™s season he started to gain more playing time and ended up being involved in 36 games in all competitions for The Magpies. Whilst the Frenchman is more known to playing on the left wing, to push the player into the middle of the park would give the midfield more pace and quick passing. Marveaux has played with the Newcastle team first-team on a regular basis for a solid year now meaning he not only knows how to work with the players he also would be completely free and would likely do a similar job to Cabaye. If Newcastle manager Alan Pardew and Chairman Mike Ashley agreed to sell Cabaye they could easily replace him with Marveaux and use the money to boost The Toon€™s attacking force. After a disappointing season in the Premier League, Newcastle have learnt they need to add more players to the squad in order to keep up with the busy schedule, so to use Marveaux as Cabaye's replacement means that money can be spent in investing in a bigger squad.
