Newcastle were tipped to make a move for PSV Eindhoven striker Jeremain Lens before the transfer window creaked open this month and Alan Pardew could still be in the market for the Dutchman who has been tearing up Eredivisie defences for PSV Eindhoven this season and has scored 25 goals in 84 overall appearances for PSV. Though Pardew has signed Gouffran to give his side more attacking intent this year, one more forward wouldn't go amiss. Wigan were expected to enter the fray for Lens' signature, and thus far, a move has failed to materialise from either Premier League side. Now would be the time for Pardew to make his move and snap the player up while there is little competition, while the player himself has recently spoken about his preference for playing in the Premier League should he leave PSV.
