Newcastle United Transfers: 5 Players They Must Sign

3. Jarrod Bowen (Hull City)

After Hereford went bust in 2014, a 17-year-old Jarrod Bowen was soon snapped up by Hull City. And since then, the left-footed right-winger has gone from strength-to-strength with The Tigers.

In an impressive 2018/19 campaign, Bowen managed to bag 22 league goals in 46 games despite Hull stumbling to a mid-table 13th-placed finish. Now 22 years of age, the future is bright for the Leominster-born youngster as he's marked himself out as one of the Championship's biggest stars.

As ever with such players, it's only a matter of time before a bigger club swoops in - and Newcastle United would do well to put the feelers out for Jarrod Bowen sooner rather than later.

In addition to his natural spot on the right wing, the former Aston Villa trainee can also play on the left flank, as a support striker, or even up top as a number 9. And with last season's head-turning goal return, he clearly knows where the back of the net is.

This past January, Cardiff City put in a £12 million bid for Bowen - although the winger turned down the move as he didn't feel comfortable in being the one tasked with filling the role left vacant by the tragic death of Emiliano Sala.

Should any club wish to go back in for Jarrod Bowen this summer, it would likely take more than £12 million to convince Hull to let their star man leave the KCOM Stadium.

To give an added layer to this one, it was actually current Newcastle gaffer Steve Bruce who brought Bowen to Hull in the first place.
