5. David Ginola (NUFC 4-0 Ferencvaros)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3iCbAW5t1A Where: St James' Park Date: October 1996 For two years we drooled over Ginolas supreme Gallic flair as one of Kevin Keegans Entertainers side in the mid-nineties with the Frenchmans bewitching close control and mesmerizing gallops down the left flank precipitating a never-ending love affair with Newcastle. Goals were few and far between during his short stint at St James Park but when he did score it was usually eye-catching. His scorching effort in the 5-0 trouncing of Manchester United and his first goal for the Club at Sheffield Wednesday immediately spring to mind. But the genius volley against Ferencvaros in the UEFA Cup ranks as his finest in a black and white jersey. When a corner was punched into Ginolas path he was put under immediate pressure by a band of white shirts. Unfazed by the presence, the Magpies no.14 demonstrated impeccable calm and control to kill the ball on his right thigh and impudently flick it over the head of a defender with the same foot before letting fly with a crashing volley on his favoured left peg. An ingenious exhibition of skill and dexterity from a truly wonderful player.
