6. Obafemi Martins (Tottenham 2-3 NUFC)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbvImSXWcQU Where: White Hart Lane Date: January 2007, One of the hardest shots recorded in football history and a goal that took both Newcastle and Tottenham supporters by surprise at the time. Few expected Martins to consider shooting when he exchanged passes with Kieron Dyer and the shifted the ball out of his feet on the left-hand of the Spurs penalty area. With his options limited and Michael Dawson ushering him away from goal the Nigerian suddenly unleashed blistering left-foot screamer from 20 yards that was hit with such ferocity that it lifted him off the ground net as it fizzed into the top corner at Paul Robinsons near post. A quite magnificent goal from a player capable of the spectacular when the mood grabbed him but who was infuriatingly inconsistent during his three-year spell at St James Park. This, by far, remains the standout memory of Martins in black and white.
