As the old song goes: "Newcastle, United, will never be defeated..." It was a performance that typified the spirit of the club back in 2011 as The Toon was a very different place compared to what it is now. A British core of players, including the likes of Kevin Nolan, Joey Barton, Andy Carrol and Alan Smith, had the club's best interests at heart and would seemingly do anything for it to succeed. Including practically taking control of the place after manager Chris Hughton was inexplicably sacked following a very solid start to Newcastle's first season back in the Premier League. This attitude came in handy when United found themselves 3-0 down inside 10 minutes, and 4 down after 26 at home to Arsenal. The sending off of Abou Diaby early in the second half proved pivotal as it served as the catalyst for arguably the greatest comeback in Barclays Premier League history. Goals from Barton (2), Leon Best and a stunning volley in the 87th minute from Cheick Tiote saw United complete the most improbable of comebacks against one of the leading sides in the country. As you would expect, SJP went absolutely crazy once Tiote's thunderous hit nestled in the back of the net. So crazy in fact that goalkeeper Steve Harper took it upon himself to perform a WWE-styled People's Elbow in one of the more bewildering moments from United's recent history.
