Newcastle's 2015-16 Season: Our Predictions Ahead Of The Campaign

2. Where Will Newcastle Finish In The 2015-16 Premier League Table?

What about in the Premier League? Steve McClaren has a brief of achieving a top-eight finish with the Magpies, but how will they fare? Chris' Prediction: 10th If the defence is anything to go by from pre-season, then this prediction is extremely optimistic for the Magpies. Just as in 2014-15 they are all over the place at the back, and Newcastle still need at least two defenders to strengthen adequately. Goals from their new recruits will save them and should - just about - earn them a top-half finish. Ross' Prediction: 11th A few good results - a few shockers - but Newcastle will still be two or three players short of doing anything serious this season. Yoan Gouffran and Mike Williamson will hold the club back. Matt's Prediction: 10th New signings will paper over some of the cracks from last season but Newcastle are still two or three transfers away from moving into the European places. Mike Williamson, Gabriel Obertan, Yoan Gouffran and Vurnon Anita (sorry Ross) are simply nowhere near the standard required.
