Newcastle's 2015-16 Season: Our Predictions Ahead Of The Campaign

9. The Xisco Award For "Unrivalled Excellence"?

A tongue-in-cheek prediction here. Xisco's dreadful time on Tyneside has been well documented - but which player will have a similarly poor campaign this time out? There's always at least one at NUFC unfortunately... Chris' Prediction: Fabricio Coloccini Likely to be a controversial choice, I admit, but no matter what Steve McClaren says about the Argentine's future things still do not seem quite right. No minutes played in pre-season, constant speculation over his future and hardly convincing comments made by his head coach says to me that Coloccini, whose defensive powers are waning anyway, is likely to have a very poor, injury-plagued campaign. Ross' Prediction: Mike Williamson Why is he still even at St James' Park? I have nothing more to say on the matter... Matt's Prediction: Gabriel Obertan The winger simply doesn€™t have the credentials to succeed at St James€™ Park. Despite being a constant outlet on the left flank and possessing unrivalled pace he€™s far too wasteful in possession and lacks intelligence as he breaks into the box. He€™s not a bad footballer but his mechanics don€™t suit Newcastle.
