Newcastle's Top-10 Summer Striking Targets Ranked By Goals-Per-Game Ratio

10. Andy Carroll - 0.27 (59 Goals In 215 Games)

2014-15 GOALSCORING RATIO: 0.36 (5 GOALS IN 14 GAMES) The former Magpies striker has been linked with a return to St James' Park in every single transfer window since he left back in January 2011 - and this one has been no different. Throughout his career, Carroll has netted a total of 59 goals in 215 games (for Newcastle, Preston North End, Liverpool and West Ham United) - a scoring ratio of a 0.27 goals per game, meaning he finds the back of the net roughly every four matches. Although hardly prolific, the 26-year-old did improve on that record during his 14 appearances last season, netting on five occasions - meaning he returned 0.36 goals per game instead. Yes the nine-cap England forward would offer an alternative upfront for Newcastle due to his physical size, but the fact he is perennially injured and is the least prolific of these 10 strikers surely must raise question marks about whether or not he will return to Tyneside to add to his 91 appearances and 33 goals for the club.
