Newcastle's Top-10 Summer Striking Targets Ranked By Goals-Per-Game Ratio
9. Troy Deeney - 0.32 (116 in 365)
2014-15 GOALSCORING RATIO: 0.49 (21 GOALS IN 43 GAMES) One of the surprise names linked to the Magpies this summer, Watford forward Troy Deeney may be ninth on the list with a career scoring ratio of 0.32 goals per game (116 strikes in 365 matches for Walsall, Halesowen Town and the Hornets) - but his record has improved significantly over the last three campaigns at Vicarage Road. Last season, Deeney captained Watford to promotion - and he also fired them to the Premier League as well, despite the club employing four separate managers over the course of the campaign. A return of 21 goals in 43 games gave Deeney a scoring ratio of 0.49 strikes per game - meaning he netted in almost half of the matches he played in. Yes they have all been in the Championship, but that is still one heck of a return. With 66 goals across the last three seasons, the 26-year-old would certainly be worth a punt - but only if the price was right.
