NFL Draft: Top 10 Steals

7. QB Matt Barkey, Philadelphia Eagles

Round 4, Pick 98 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKPko96VyFs It doesn't matter if you're fan Matt Barkley or not, the Philadelphia Eagles got a huge steal by selecting him in the fourth round. Considered to be a first or second round selection, Barkley landed with the Eagles at the 98th overall pick. The Eagles in fact traded up to get him, but only gave up a 7th round pick. Barkley seems to have a decent shot at the starting quarterback job, however, don't count on him to be the day 1 starter. According to Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com, Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman was very high on Barkley and when he realized Barkley was sitting their at the 98th pick, he quickly grabbed him. This pick is incredible value since Barkley was the front runner for the Heisman Trophy prior to a disappointing senior season. Barkley will have to beat out veteran Michael Vick and the young Nick Foles. Barkley seems to be a very smart quarterback at reading defenses and knowing where to go with the football, something that Vick has had trouble in years past. Foles seems to be a smart quarterback as well with a strong arm, however accuracy has been an issue and that is something Barkley is very good at. If Barkley can get Chip Kelly's playbook down and call plays on the move to Kelly's up tempo offense then Barkley has a legitimate shot at the starting quarterback position.
