NFL: Early Predictions For The AFC

San Diego Chargers

Genuine contenders for the AFC West? Quite possibly. Philip Rivers and the Chargers will remain in San Diego for this season at least, and will press the Broncos all the way in 2015, with fresh offensive options and a rejuvenated defence. Losing RB Ryan Mathews to injury last season was a loss, and now he's moved on, the outstanding young running back Melvin Gordon has been drafted in to balance the team out. He ran riot in his senior year at Wisconsin, breaking records for fun and tallying up a staggering 2,587 rushing yards, and 29 rushing TDs in 14 games. He's a star ready to blossom into a top class NFL player, and if he hits the ground running, there's no reason the Chargers can't make the playoffs in 2015. 2015 Record: 10-6 (2nd in AFC West)
