Norwich City: 5 Potential Replacements For Chris Hughton

4. Michael Laudrup (Unemployed)

Like many people, I was surprised that Swansea moved to sack Michael Laudrup from his position as manager; in fact, it has now been revealed that such a decision was made via email. I€™m sure plenty of Norwich fans would be delighted to see the Danish manager installed as the new man at Carrow Road. This is because he is generally a positive manager who looks to play attacking and possession based football. In fact, Swansea were the most accurate passers of the ball in the Premier League under his direction. Nevertheless, it€™s important to remember that he was removed from his job at the club for a reason. Obviously, it€™s debatable if the right decision was made at this point. Nevertheless, it would certainly be ironic if he was installed as Norwich€™s next manager and Swansea were relegated. One thing that you did feel with Laudrup at Swansea, was that he was using the club to make the step-up to the next level and a bigger job. Norwich City certainly went through something very similar with Paul Lambert. It may very well be the case that this is enough reason for the club to stay away from him. However, I would just add that Lambert€™s tenure was a successful at Carrow Road. There is plenty of evidence to suggest that Laudrup wouldn€™t stay in Norfolk longer than a couple of seasons, since that€™s what he has done through his career. Nevertheless, some fans might think that it is now that matters, and the future can be worried about in the future. Finally, the manager had the option to jump ship in the summer, but didn€™t do so €“ suggestion that he is keen to finish a job he has started. The Dane is currently seen as a 14/1 chance of becoming the club€™s next manager.
