Millwall managed to finish a respectable 16th last season, but they are one of my tips for relegation this time around. Other than the signing of goalkeeper Maik Taylor all of their signings have come from the leagues below, and their lack of goal scoring talent could see them heading that way by seasons end. Prediction: 23rd
Nottingham Forest
Sean ODriscoll has been a busy man in the transfer market, bringing in defenders Danny Collins from Stoke and Greg Halford from Portsmouth. But the one to catch the fans attention has been the mouth-watering signing of the Republic of Ireland International striker Simon Cox for an undisclosed fee. A 19th place finish last time round will surely be improved upon, though promotion will be out of their reach. Prediction: 10th
Peterborough United
One of the most exciting teams in the Championship in terms of attacking prowess, Peterborough have signed players mainly from lower divisions, and an up and down season will surely be round the corner for Posh fans. The loss of goalkeeper Joe Lewis is sure to have another negative influence on their somewhat leaky defence. Prediction: 18th
Sheffield Wednesday
The last of the promoted teams, Sheffield Wednesday under the ownership of Milan Mandaric, will be looking for an impressive first season back in the second tier of English football. This author thinks it may be a disappointing season for the Owls, and may finish in the depths of the division, though on a positive note should avoid relegation. The signing of Barcelona striker Rodri on a season long loan is sure to buoy the fans, though perhaps not the results. Prediction: 19th
Watford
My surprise tip for the play-offs this year. With new ambitious owners, and an exciting new manager in Gianfranco Zola, Watford have gone about their summer business through using the owners Italian and Spanish connections, signing three players on loan from Udinese and two from Granada. The arrival of Manuel Almunia from Arsenal and Fitz Hall from Queens Park Rangers is good business, and come the end of the season the Hornets may find themselves at Wembley. Prediction: 4th
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Following their exit from the Premier League, Wolves have lost senior players in the form of Michael Kightly, and Sam Vokes. The transfer saga involving Matt Jarvis is also likely to have a detrimental effect on the players, and the introduction of a manager with no previous English league experience mean this could be a poor season in the eyes of the fans. Prediction: 9th
