NUFC Offer David Moyes Head Coach Job

Newcastle United have reportedly offered David Moyes the Head Coach's position at St James' Park. A contract worth £5 million-a-year has been put on the table by Mike Ashley in an attempt to prise the former Manchester United boss away from Real Sociedad. Metro reports how the three-time LMA Manager of the Year is now The Magpie's top target after Derby County manager Steve McClaren rejected the chance to take over for the final three games of the season.
Of course, this is all dependant on John Carver keeping the club in the Premier League. Alan Pardew's former assistant stopped a run of eight successive defeats in the 1-1 home draw with West Brom on Saturday which leaves the Geordies two points but only one place above Hull City in the final relegation spot. Carver has two relatively 'easy' games to save Newcastle's bacon away to a shambolic Queens Park Rangers and at home to West Ham, a team that have had their flip flops on for a number of weeks now. Despite lasting less than a season at Old Trafford, Moyes has gone someway to rebuilding his sterling reputation in Spain, lifting Sociedad from the relegation zone to 11th place in La Liga. He almost nicked a point from the Nou Camp at the weekend before his side capitulated in the final 10 minutes. It remains to be seen if a manager as reputable as the Scotsman would work under the restrictions put in place by Newcastle's owner, however...
