Chris' Final Table: The final tabledoesn't look pretty, even if it may bring mighty relief for Magpies and Black Cats alike. Sunderland and Newcastle will survive by the slimmest of margins - and both will probably be fighting relegation again next season unless major investment arrives. John Carver must be removed as Magpies boss, and an entire squad overhaul is needed. Newcastle supporters deserve some excitement next season - it's time for Mike Ashley to deliver on that.
Ross' Final Table: A second 16th-placed in three seasons for Newcastle simply isn't good enough. The club needs to learn from its mistakes, appoint a real manager and spend more than £50 million in the transfer window to stand any chance of surviving next year. A few key players - Tim Krul, Moussa Sissoko and Cheick Tiote - could be shifted on as well. They MUST be replaced.
