Predicting All 12 UFC Champions One Year From Now
9. Women's Featherweight Champion - Cris Cyborg
Cris Cyborg is something else. On her ascendancy to the top of UFC, Cyborg was met with criticism and theories that she simply had ungodly knockout power but no gas tank or technical ability. In reality, Cyborg's technical ability was never in doubt - she's a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu - she just never needed to use it or go the distance. That changed when she stepped in the octagon with Holly Holm - one of the UFC's most technically-gifted fighters and a cardio machine. They went the distance and Cyborg retained the Featherweight Championship, proving to any remaining doubters that she had the total package.
Since then, Cyborg has fought Yana Kunitskaya and obliterated her in the first round. That left Cyborg without any real challengers, so the UFC made the only real fight it had available: Cris Cyborg vs. Amanda Nunes.
The super fight is scheduled for December of this year and Cyborg has opened as a massive -200 favourite over the Bantamweight Champion. As impressive as Nunes is, she's basically a smaller version of Cyborg. Nunes is not a natural 145lb fighter, and this seems like a total mismatch for her. Nunes will be another notch in Cyborg's belt.
