9. Rio Ferdinand
As stated above, Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson knows the value that comes with having experienced players - so it's not particularly likely that Rio will be moving in the summer. However, his contract is set to expire and we've heard nothing of a renewal and unlikely to do so until the end of the season. So until then, we'll have to play the waiting game. Although hes not likely to be after a ridiculously high pay check, he and his agent have angered United fans in the past on the subject, and it could turn out that he wants to seek pastures new in one of the developing, money-flooding leagues in a foreign country. I'm sure an MLS team would put in an offer if they thought he could be tempted. The oil money of the Middle East could persuade him also, or he could go down the Drogba root and head for China. But it's all up in the air at the moment and it's likely that neither he nor the club want to get mixed up in contract negotiations when United have such a crucial run-in, competing in and hoping to win three competitions. Chances are we will see a one-year extension signed at some point, but we shall have to wait and see.
