Premier League: 10 Great Players Soon To Be Out Of Contract

4. Danny Simpson

danny simpson After a successful season for Newcastle in which Danny Simpson played a big part, 2012/13 has been a little disappointing for the right-back who has made just 16 league appearances. Newspaper reports have claimed that he was unhappy with being offered a new deal worth £25,000 per week - an increase on his current deal of £10,000 per week. The controversy over this disagreement has been going on since the end of last season, and since it hasn't yet been resolved it's easy to assume that the ex-Man Utd youngster might be heading out of St James' Park. The fact that Newcastle have also splashed out on full-back Davide Santon and more recently Mathieu Debuchy suggests that they may be planning for life after Simpson. But Danny's talent is still there and I'm sure he feels positive about finding a club that can match his demands. He can do a solid job at a mid-table side if anyone is willing to take a punt on him, but he'll have to work hard to prove he's worthy of a wage higher than what Newcastle were willing to offer.
